Installing Your Own Light Fixture | Studio Update

Here she is! My beautiful new fixture! 

No shadows underneath like my ugly old fixture.

Special thanks to Anne DeCocco from DeCocco Design for helping me to choose my Goldilocks fixture (it was just right!).

I have to admit I was a bit scared to do the electrical work on this, but a certain someone assured me that the electricity turns off to the lamp when you flip the switch. 

The first tentative touch of the old fixture's wire did not electrocute me, so I jumped in confidently.

Ooh! This is a messy studio shot, but some days, this is just how it is. I would like to say I am in such good shape that my arms did not get tired holding that fixture up while I wrapped the wires together. 

But, that would be dishonest.

The coolest thing about this light is that you can design your own lampshade for it.  I went with a neutral color shade because my walls have lots of colorful art, but it was nice to have the option.
